Motorcycles in Bus Lanes in London – Views Sought from Motorcyclists (London and SE)

Transport for London are taking user views into account as part of their evaluation process and have provided a questionnaire on their web site. As part of the evaluation of the experimental scheme and in addition to monitoring casualties and vehicle usage patterns, TfL have also agreed to take account of the number of user views which are both for and against the scheme.

MCI is aware that Tfl have already received large numbers of submissions from cyclists, opposing motorcycles in bus lanes. It is clear that all those who support motorcycles in bus lanes need to make their views known by taking part in the TfL survey.

We urge all of you who read this to use this link to visit the TfL 'user views' website and complete the response form, stating your views in an honest fashion. The form which will take only about two minutes to complete. The response form also provides an opportunity to suggest any changes or amendments to the scheme that you, as a motorcycling bus lane user, feel would be appropriate.

Please do not respond more than once. Instead, please pass this link to other motorcyclists so that they can take part in the user survey. https://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/roadusers/finesandregulations/motorcycleinbuslanes/default.aspx

The TfL scheme is being keenly watched outside London. Failure of the scheme in London will be likely to fundamentally undermine our chances of getting motorcycles into bus lanes elsewhere.

Thank you for your support.
