Campaigns: Road Safety
Road safety education - lifelong learning
The MCI believe in a lifelong learning approach to road safety. We offer advice and guidance to Road Safety Officers and teachers concerning moped, scooter and motorcycle safety.
- Young children are taught about the pedestrian safety
- Teenagers are taught about using the roads as cyclists and passengers
- Young adults are taught about motorised transport use
In 2006, the MCI produced the LINKS resource for teachers use to incorporate road safety education into the Key Stage 4 Citizenship Curriculum. The units are available in the resources section Click Here.
We work increasingly hard with others in the motorcycle community, Government and trainers to improve the standard of motorcycle training. We support the DSA's Register of Post Test Motorcycle Trainers (RPMT) and the associated Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS) and have strong links with BikeSafe, a police motorcycle safety initiative.
