PUBLIC RELATIONS
The Role of Public Relations
The MCI’s Public Relations Department has the main function of promoting motorcycling to all publics including politicians, the media, riders and potential riders.
Promoting significant issues related to the world of motorcycling is at the top of the team’s agenda. Topics that the department are focussing on are safety in motorcycling and youth work and road user education.
The department is responsible for a number of key areas including
- Managing PR Campaigns
- Media Relations
- Media Monitoring
Ride 2 Work Day is the MCI’s main non-political press campaign that was established three years ago. A new campaign has been created for 2006.
National Motorcycle Week in July aims to promote motorcycling and the social, economic and environmental benefits associated with it. Fun and freedom are key elements of motorcycling as this consumer campaign will focus on all aspects of riding including commuting, holidays, sport and social events
The Public Relations Department is a central contact point on all motorcycling issues and the team will
- Issue regular press releases
- Provide a range of spokespeople
- Provide statistics
