ABOUT THE MCI
Who Are We?
The Motorcycle Industry Association Ltd. is the body which represents the interests of the supply side of the UK Motor Cycle Industry. Our Members include Motorcycle Manufacturers and Importers, Clothing and Accessory Manufacturers, Importers and Wholesalers, Motorcycle Marketing Services including the major finance houses and insurance brokers

Simply put, our Mission Statement is;
“To develop and sustain an environment whereby motorcycling can flourish”
So how do we do this? in summary, we spend much of our time lobbying and communicating with the powers that be, whether they be the European Commission, or the UK Government, to ensure that motorcycling is given the best opportunity to thrive in the UK and that our Members interests are fully represented.
So how can Membership of the Motor Cycle Industry Association Ltd benefit your company?
- Power of Association – You will be part of a bigger organisation, and as a collective, we have more influence as an industry to represent your interests. We have over 150 companies in Membership from all areas of the industry and so have a good breadth of representation.
- Invaluable Market Insight – With access to motorcycle registration data not available through any other body we are able to provide you with up-to-date information on the state of the Industry, invaluable in allowing you to run your business effectively.
- Keeping you informed of changes in Legislation - Information on the latest developments in EU and UK legislation. The MCI hold Chair and key positions within many of the EU Committees set up to advise and recommend the European Commission on future legislation affecting the UK market. Ultimately protecting the UK market from damaging legislation. The more companies we represent, the more influence we have to represent your interests.
- Invaluable Networking Opportunities – Through one of our Committees or interest groups (Technical Committee, Manufacturers Group, Motorcycle Safety Committee, Accessory & Factors Group, MCRIS Research Committee, Off Road and Road Race Groups) you will have the opportunity to network with peers & industry leaders enabling you to benchmark your company against similar organisations.
- Promote your Product at UK Industry Showcase – International Motorcycle & Scooter Show, attracting almost 1 in 7 active motorcyclists in the UK gives opportunities to present you company/brand to around 200,000 core visitors. Membership gives priority access to the Show.
- Business & Legal Support – Free access to the MCI Business Support Helpline Service giving information and guidance on tax issues , VAT, PAYE, Payroll, NIC, Employment, Health & Safety, and Commercial Legal. This service has proved invaluable to many Members of the Association offering them free impartial advice prior to making key decisions affecting their business.
