CLUBS
Remember from your licence application form you have to get it stamped and counter signed by an official of the club you have joined. But which club?
If you have set your heart on racing in a particular series, or on a particular machine then your choice is a lot simpler. Find the people who operate races to suit what you want and join.
For those who arent sure some further research will be necessary. Follow the link below to the full list of clubs. Remember the ACU has clubs for every discipline, so make sure you concentrate your search to road racing clubs.
Other tips for selecting a club.
Where do they race, and are you able to get there? |
What do they cost? |
Do they operate a series that your bike is eligible for? |
And is this series at the right level for you? |
Do their meetings clash with something else you have to do? |
Remember you can join more than one club if you want? |
Finally, you dont have to do every meeting. But this may mean you are less of a priority when it comes to processing entries for a popular series. |
Dont be afraid to ask silly questions! The vast majority of race officials from circuit owner to trainee marshall are enthusiastic about racing and willing to help you. Everybody was a novice once upon a time.
