TRACKS
Everybodys heard of Silverstone, right? And everyone knows its just outside Towcester in Northamptonshire, right? So you wont need anybodies help with where any of the tracks are. Wrong.
When you start at novice level youll be venturing to far flung, wind swept places most people have never heard of. But thats not to say the tracks are bad, far from it. Once your racing against others on similar bikes and ability youll soon forget all about what the track surroundings are like.
Make sure you know where in the country the track your racing at is. (You wouldnt be the first person to arrive at Donington village in Lincolnshire wondering where the track is) And plan your route carefully, the signs to some race tracks are hard to spot.
You might consider buying the Dunlop MCN Circuit Guide. Its available from most good bike retail outlets and contains all kinds of information like lap records for different classes, where to stay, and hints and tips to put in a fast lap. Just remember that the tips will have been written by someone a lot speedier than your novice self.
