Whilst Powered Two Wheelers provide solutions to many of today’s transport issues, society and policy makers remain sceptical. The MCI’s PR aims to challenge the stereotypical perceptions and highlight the many benefits of two wheels, helping to embed a culture of motorcycle use into the mainstream UK transport infrastructure.
All PR topics aim to increase the number of miles travelled on two wheels, improve safety or present motorcycling as a viable transport solution. This is achieved through developing relationships with media, creating positive news stories, events and campaigns. Examples of recent projects include:
- Ride To Work Day – encouraging existing riders to ride more and inspiring non riders to ride (Ride to Work Day 2012 – 18th June)
- Media Test Day – providing opportunity for members of the Press to test ride a moped, scooter or motorcycle on road or track or find out about motorcycling and try a bike for the first time.
The MCI is the primary voice and source of information for the UK motorcycle industry. MCI personnel are available for comment on all industry related matters and can help support any press activity organised by members.
