SILVERSTONE AND YAMAHA UK GEAR UP FOR A CAROLE NASH NEC BIKESHOW SPECIAL
In what has proved to be a landmark year for Yamaha Motors UK and Silverstone both intend to cap 2009 off in style at The Carole Nash International Motorcycle & Scooter Show which takes place at the Birmingham NEC from the 27th November – 6th December.
Fresh from claiming championship titles across MotoGP, World and British Superbikes, World Supersport and MX1, the Japanese manufacturer moves confidently into 2010 with the belief that they have a two-wheeler to offer everyone. Yamaha will be displaying a huge range of motorcycles both on and off road, including their scooters, at this year’s Show.
Visitors will no doubt want to check out the awesome YZF-R1, probably the most written about superbike in 2009, plus the reverse cylinder and very special premier class motorcrosser, the new YZ450F. James Toseland’s YZ-M1 and Ben Spies’ World Championship winning YZ-R1 will also be on the Yamaha stand ensuring that, as ever, Yamaha remains an absolute must-see. Simon Belton, Marketing Manager, Yamaha Motors UK, commented: “We’re really excited about the Show; we always look forward to it and this year is no exception. The Show is our best opportunity to talk directly to our customers to gauge their opinion about Yamaha and the products we offer.”
With Silverstone gearing up for the return of MotoGP in 2010, the iconic Northamptonshire circuit has lined up a series of exclusive offers and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for visitors at this year’s Show. Silverstone’s attendance is a first for the circuit, providing show-goers with an opportunity to see what The Home of British Motor Racing is planning for the world’s premier motorcycle championship.
Visitors to the Silverstone stand will be able to see 2009 World Champion Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha M1 on display and will also have the chance to bring their own ideas to life by writing entertainment suggestions for next year’s MotoGP at Silverstone on a chalk wall based at the stand. Finally, a daily prize draw will present visitors to the stand with the money-cant-buy chance of being one of the first to ride the new MotoGP circuit on the day it is officially opened.
Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Ltd, commented: “This will be the first year we have ever exhibited at the Show and it seems to be the most opportune moment to do so. We will we be revealing our exciting 2010 MotoGP plans to the audience and are really looking forward to it.”
Finlay McAllan, Managing Director of MCI Exhibitions, added: “Yamaha and Silverstone have grabbed more headlines than perhaps any other brand associated with motorcycling in 2009 so we are thrilled that they will both play a central role in the success of this year’s Show. We’re equally excited with our line up of other manufacturers, new model launches, live action, riding activities and racer appearances. Visitors will feel like they’ve had a packed day and really get their money’s worth!”
