Government needs to recognise the potential of motorcycles and scooters to help deliver clean air

With National Clean Air Day (21st June) falling in the middle of Ride to Work Week (18th – 24th June), it is a good opportunity to highlight the part motorcycles and scooters could play in reducing air pollution in the UK.

Riding to Work has been shown as having a significant impact upon a persons’ well-being, which was highlighted in a recent survey conducted to coincide with Ride to Work Week, which started yesterday. 


Free commuter cover during Ride to Work Week

Motorcycle insurers and brokers Ageas, Aviva,  Bennetts, BikeSure, Devitt Insurance, LV, Lexham Insurance and Zenith are all offering free commuter cover to leisure riders, so that they can ride to work during national Ride to Work Week (18th to 24th June).

Motorcycle Industry Association announces a new motorcycle & scooter anti-theft security rating programme

Working with the support of the major motorcycle manufacturers, the Motorcycle Industry Association has today announced a ‘star rating’ programme, designed to recognise and highlight to buyers which anti-theft devices are fitted or supplied as standard on new motorcycles and scooters.
 


MCIA condemns European Commission move to end motorcycle sport

The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) is today calling on EU member governments and MEPs to reject European Commission proposals which threaten to end all forms of competitive and grassroots motorsport across the EU, including the UK.
