Advice for industry to use their MP

Steve Baker MP, who is Chair of the All Party Group for Motorcycling, gave some sound advice about how members might mobilise MPs to get involved in issues affecting motorcycling, when he attended a recent meeting of the MCI Off-Road group.

He explained that members should get to know their local MPs, inviting them to understand the significance of motorcycling in their patch.  An MP will be interested in the economic contribution members make as a local employer and will welcome the opportunity of being associated with them.  Establishing the economic or social relevance of motorcycling to a particular area gives the MP a context in which to engage with the issues affecting motorcycling.
