Members are reminded that the AGM and Annual Conference will take place at Motorcycle Live onTuesday 25th November.
The AGM and Conference take around 60 minutes combined, and provide members and those thinking about membership with an invaluable insight into the Association’s most recent work. “We have some very exciting developments to talk about,” promises Steve Kenward, “including final sales projections for 2014 and a first glance at 2015!” Steve and his team will present on a range of MCIA work, including a progress report a new national motorcycle safety strategy. This is collaboration between the MCIA and the Association of Chief Police Officers and is to be a practical solutions-based strategy, formed around the premise that more motorcycles will result in fewer causalities. Other developments include the establishment of DVSA endorsed courses to help align motorcycle training to national educational standards, plus details of the Association’s call for parity between electric cars and electric motorcycles for the next round of ‘green’ funding. “We’ll also have the latest statistics from the MASTER Security Scheme and metrics surrounding the Motorcycle Off-Road Experience,” adds Steve. It will be held once again in Motorcycle Live’s retro cinema. “This venue certainly lends an air of glamour to the proceedings, hence a return for this year,” explained Steve. Drinks and nibbles will be available from 5 pm for a 5.30 pm start. If you are attending and have not yet let us know, email Polly Fenn, Membership Assistant as soon as possible.
