Northamptonshire County Council includes motorcycling as a sustainable transport option, through a council led project – Motorcycle Northants. With 2000 council workers due to relocate to new premises in Angel Street in the town centre soon, pressure on parking will be far greater.
Many Get On slots have been booked by council staff, but some have been reserved for the wider public, to find out if motorcycling is for them.
Sessions will last half an hour and are open to anyone aged 15 or over. All protective clothing is provided and advice about how to find high quality training is also available from Get On's team of professional trainers.
Northamptonshire has two training schools working towards MCIAC Accreditation. These currently include 90 One Education and Karmenz Motorcycle Training. MCIAC is a framework which encourages and measures high quality training.
Today's Get On venue is the Claret Car Park, Edgar Mobbs Way, Northampton, NN5 5JT, which is opposite the Northampton Saints Rugby Football Club and it is possible for people to just turn up without booking, subject to availability. Under 16s need to bring an adult.
