He explained that members should get to know their local MPs, inviting them to understand the significance of motorcycling in their patch. An MP will be interested in the economic contribution members make as a local employer and will welcome the opportunity of being associated with them. Establishing the economic or social relevance of motorcycling to a particular area gives the MP a context in which to engage with the issues affecting motorcycling.
