MCI receives Award from BEN

The MCI was delighted to receive an unexpected award ‘in appreciation of outstanding support’ from BEN, the UK’s charity for the automotive industry.

It was awarded at the end of the MCI’s Annual Conference and AGM which took place during Motorcycle Live.  Jim Wright, who has the job of managing regional fundraising for BEN explained that the award was to thank the MCI and motorcycle industry for all the support and help they have given to BEN over the year, ‘Whether through performance related giving or donating a stand at the Motorcycle Live show, it all helps towards supporting our industry colleagues in their time of need’. The charity is dedicated to those who have worked, or still work in the automotive and related industries and their dependants. It helps in a number of ways offering practical, emotional or financial support, in addition to day nursing and residential care. Howard Dale, Chair of the MCI Board, explained that the Association was delighted to offer support to a charity that specifically helped those who work in the motorcycling industry, as, ‘it is difficult to know what’s around the corner for any of us, but knowing there is a charity dedicated to helping people within our industry is reassuring and we will continue to offer as much support as we can’.
