Find out more about the MCIA; its strategy, governance and members

The MCIA has been established for over 100 years and represents approximately 85% of the supply side of the industry; the manufacturers and importers of motorcycles, accessory and component suppliers and companies supplying associated services.

Based in Coventry, the MCIA works closely with members and a wide variety of stakeholders such as Government and its agencies, police, press and road safety organisations to promote, protect and expand the UK motorcycle industry.

The Association is governed by a Board of directors, appointed or elected by members, and works within Articles of Association.

MCI Exhibitions

Each year MCI Exhibitions Ltd delivers Motorcycle Live, the biggest and best showcase for our industry’s products and services, and the only show where profits are invested straight back into the industry.

Motorcycle Live is the UK's biggest annual motorcycle consumer show, attracting over 100,000 visitors and featuring over 40 manufacturer exhibits, live events, feature areas and opportunities to ride.

Motorcycle Industry Accreditation Centre (MCIAC)

The Motorcycle Industry Accreditation Centre (MCIAC) provides an IMI approved training and assessment programme for ATB's and instructors which is fully endorsed by the DVLA

MCIAC was developed to ensure that customers entering the motorcycle market consistently experience excellent service and training standards.

The accreditation provides a way for professional training schools to differentiate themselves and a system of signposting for customers looking for quality motorcycle instruction.

Continuing to raise the standard of rider training is key to improving the safety of motorcyclists and will encourage more people to the motorcycle community.

The DVSA is committed to modernising rider training and the adoption of a more 'client centred' approach. MCIAC accreditation provides the mechanism for the training industry to profressionalise ahead of any compulsory requirements to do so.
