Motorcycling Matters


ACEM, the Association which represents the motorcycle industry in Europe has produced a film which acknowledges the role of powered two wheelers.

‘Motorcycling Matters’ was first shown at ACEM’s conference at the end of last month and sets out both the economic contribution of motorcycling and the leisure and sport possibilities.
  The film, which is around 6 minutes long, highlights the fact that 63% of scooter and motorcycle sales in Europe are for urban use and puts forward the case for urban planners to take this into consideration.
  The motorcycle industry is worth £7.2 billion to the UK, employing 62,000 people in over 6000.   The MCI has recently launched a project which has identified over 100 companies involved in the manufacture of motorcycles and related products in the UK.  More details of this can be found following the links:
