Specialising originally in the car market to become the UK’s largest provider of car finance, the company moved into the motorcycle sector last year, after signing a deal with KTM Austria. As KTM’s main European financier, they are concentrating on developing the business through around 30 KTM dealers in the UK. Paul Munns, Motorcycle Finance Development Manager, is a keen motorcyclist himself, and is putting together a specialist team to work with dealers to help them to sell more bikes, as well as finance. “We think customers will trust the Santander brand, which is a strong one, and we have done away with set up fees for customers, which is going down well. We will also be working hard to help the dealers as much as possible.” Paul was alerted to the networking opportunities that membership of the MCI could secure when he helped out on the KTM stand at last year’s Motorcycle Live. “We are hoping to get involved with the Service Providers group”, he explained “to participate in sharing best practice and to forge some good partnerships going forward”. “I’m also keen to come along to the MCI social events, which Membership Manager Sandra Cole has told me about, which sound like great opportunity to make new contacts in the industry”.
