Get On is a free ‘try out’ initiative, which is run by the Motorcycle Industry Association and gives you the opportunity to experience riding a motorbike or scooter without committing to the cost of training.
If you like it, you will know you want to carry on and if you don’t, then you’ve lost nothing. It’s fairly likely you will like it though. Of 4000 Get On riders who were surveyed after their experience, 97% said they enjoyed it.
What is provided?
All protective clothing is provided and instruction is from professional trainers. You will be offered a geared bike or a ‘twist and go’ and it is suitable for anyone aged 14 or older, although under 16s need to bring an adult along.
Sessions last between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the venue. Riders need to wear long jeans and sturdy shoes. Booking is via the phone 02476 408040 (office hours, Monday to Friday), or via the website www.geton.co.uk. You can turn up on the day without booking, but you need to book beforehand to guarantee your session.
