Manufacturers & importers

Erik Huisinga, European Sales Manager for Zero Motorcycles explains the benefits of membership.

As an electric motorcycle company and a relatively new player in the UK market, we greatly benefited from MCIA membership. With great ideas for co-operation, helpful meetings, lobbying activities and being our ears and eyes on the UK market, we actually feel being a member helps us grow our presence. The stand space at the Motorcycle Live show is the icing on the cake.

We joined different meetings including Special Member Group Meetings at MCIA headquarters and attended the annual meeting during Motorcycle Live. We also appreciated the informal social evening in November, where we were able to meet many colleagues from the industry.

We had a great presence at Motorcycle Live in Birmingham and thanks to the activities from the MCIA the UK Plug-in grant is now in place for our electric motorcycles. We highly appreciate the continuous efforts from the MCIA team in helping us establish our business.

We would recommend membership to others. Being in the same business means that by working together as a group we can only achieve better market conditions.

And they’re just great people.

Service Providers

Nigel Meyer, Distribution Director from Devitt Insurance Services talks about their MCIA membership.

Devitt have been working with the motorcycle industry for 80 years. We believe that the MCIA is a key organisation and does a great job in terms of promoting and supporting the trade.

Devitt is represented at meetings and open days and have always found the discussions and topics covered to be interesting.

We have also used the Induction Days to introduce new staff to the industry.

Events are a great opportunity to network and speak with other individuals and companies that are influential in the world of motorcycling. We believe that the time attending is very well spent.

Accessory & Component Suppliers

Tony Charlton, 2w Product Technical Manager (UK & ROI) explains why Michelin are members.

As members of the MCIA we at Michelin feel we have a great forum to discuss the issues that really affect our industry – not only this but the resources available as members give us greater insight into our customers and our market.

We get involved where we can with events that benefit the industry and had a great time when we took part in ‘Get On’ at our head office here in Stoke-on-Trent.

Membership isn’t just about paying our dues, it’s about feeling part of a community forum that understands and best represents the industry where it matters.
